Geotechnical Supervisor/ Manager
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (PM), the Supervisor directs and manages all on-site drillers, drill assistants, support staff, subcontractors, and equipment. The Supervisor enforces Geotech policies, procedures, and safety standards while meeting project requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage drill crews to ensure the successful operation and completion of drilling programs.
- Effectively transition between field based activities and office responsibilities to support hands on operations and administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and employees on site.
- Conduct daily safety meetings with crew and clients.
- Communicate with the Senior PM daily or as frequently as the project requires to be successful.
- Utilize technical knowledge of drill rigs to assist in troubleshooting and specialized tasks.
- Know, understand, comply and enforce HSE requirements to all site employees and subcontractors.
- Coordinate, review and deliver employee training as trained to do.
- Strategically mentor and identify high potential employees.
- Complete all incident reports and investigations with assistance from HSE staff
- Prepare daily reports of all drilling activities.
- Accommodate and facilitate change at the request of the client, company or if better/best practices are determined.
- Complete routine drill audits planned job observations (PJO’s) and pre and post hole inspections.
- Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
- Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
- Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or company.
- Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
- Supervise drill assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Ensure drill assistants maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Must have 10 + years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
- Must have proven hands-on drilling experience.
- Must be comfortable with computers and technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment and client required pre-access drug & alcohol test.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Formal drilling certification an asset.

Compensation
As this position is project based, annual compensation is based on hours worked and projects completed but equates to approximately $140,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience.

Geotechnical Drill Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
- Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
- Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
- Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
- Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 3 Driver’s Licence.
- Have 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is an asset.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment an asset.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
- Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Compensation
$23.00 – $28.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Experienced Geotechnical Driller

Heavy Duty Field Mechanic – Rotational Work
Role
Geotech Drilling is looking for an experienced HD Field Mechanic to work on rotation at our long-standing programs. Competitive wages and benefits are offered. This dynamic position will support our operations involving a variety of exploration drilling equipment. The successful candidate will lead all repairs, including diagnostics on support equipment. Geotech covers all travel and camp costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems
- Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.

Professional Experience / Qualifications
- 5 + years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps

- Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset.

Proposals and Estimating Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated Proposals and Estimating Associate (PEA) to join our team at Geotech Drilling, a leading geotechnical and exploration drilling company. The ideal candidate will handle day-to-day client interactions, generating proposals and estimates, and identifying new leads. You will work closely with our business development and technical teams to ensure client satisfaction and support our growth. Conference attendance is only required on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and deliver proposals and cost estimates for geotechnical and exploration drilling projects, working closely with the sales team to ensure accuracy.
- Track and report on sales activity, maintaining accurate records of interactions, leads, and opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for daily client communications, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and fostering strong relationships.
- Proactively reach out to potential clients via cold calls and other lead generation strategies to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Works with internal teams to ensure that prerequisites (i.e., MSA’s, ISN, other pre-qualifications or getting on a vendor list) are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures all administrative requirements are completed on time, and appropriate documentation sent to the appropriate department for filing or follow-up (i.e., time sheets, business development tracking sheets, progress reports, etc.).
- Conduct timely follow-ups with clients to close sales, confirm project details, and maintain ongoing relationships.
- Work with the internal team to ensure the smooth transition of client accounts from sales to execution.
- Completes other duties as required (i.e., this position requires a high degree of flexibility and from time to time may require additional duties to be completed outside the daily role described above).
- Operates within Geotech’s communities with the highest sense of integrity and social responsibility, and complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Development and tracking of customer satisfaction metrics, including the measurement of customer satisfaction post project completion.
- Other responsibilities to support the Sales & Business Development group as instructed by the Director.
Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Microsoft Business Central Dynamics 365 experience is considered an asset.

Hours of Work:

$28.00 – $38.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
