Geotechnical Drill Assistant – BC
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
- Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
- Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
- Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
- Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 3 Driver’s Licence.
- Have 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is an asset.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment an asset.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
- Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Compensation
$23.00 – $28.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

The 5th Person works alongside a drill team as their support, and ensure that all equipment and resources operate safely and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload equipment.
- Prepare work sites and maintain cleanliness.
- Drive, operate, refuel and wash Geotech equipment, including trucks, support vehicles, generators, pumps, and hand tools.

Hours of Work:
4 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 12 hr days. Flexibility with schedule as rotation is subject to change.

Warehouse Person/ Shipper Receiver
Warehouse Person/ Shipper Receiver
We are looking for a Warehouse Person/ Shipper Receiver to manage inventory, coordinate shipments, and support field operations. This role involves handling drilling materials, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and maintain an organized warehouse to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, Operations and Yard staff where required.
- Fill and complete requisitions in a timely manner.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and shared with appropriate parties.
- Assist in shipping, receiving and inventory management.
- Ensure internal and external rentals are available upon request.
- Process weekly and monthly reports including damages, returns and currently rented items.
- Ensure rentals are returned in a timely manner.
- Inspect incoming load requisitions for expected rentals.
- Maintain tracking mechanism for rentals.
- Create requisitions for rental/internal kits that require restocking.
- Conduct sign in/out of rental and internal kits.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
· 1-2 years previous experience in a warehouse, shipping/ receiving or logistics.
· Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
· Experience in drilling, mining, or construction industries is a strong asset.
· Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks at hand
· Excellent communication and organizational skills

Yard Technician
Geotech Drilling Services Ltd. is looking for a motivated Yard Technician to join their team in Prince George! This dynamic role will involve general yard tasks to effectively support the loading and unloading of equipment for drilling programs based across Western Canada. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Yard team and the effective preperation of drilling related equipment and supplies.
Yard Technician Responsibilities:
- Performing routine laboring tasks on a daily basis such as yard clean up.
- Moving, carrying and hauling materials and inventory.
- Filling requisitions for project work.
- Operating hand-held equipment and forklift.
- Sorting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment for future projects.
- Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self, co-workers and Geotech property.
- Ensure outgoing loads are logically organized, complete and secure for transport
- Ensure quality of outgoing loads and report all defects or errors to the Yard Foreman
- Maintain constant communication with yard technicians and operations staff
- Exert excellent prioritizing skill to meet and exceed project timelines

Rate:

Schedule:
Working schedule is four days a week, including weekends. Typically this will consist of 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is 6:30am – 5:00pm.

Operations Administrative Assistant
We are actively seeking an Operations Administrative Assistant to join our head office in Prince George. In this pivotal role, you’ll be a key player in this fast-paced environment, providing essential administrative support to our dynamic operations team.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Front office management – greet/register visitors and notify the appropriate parties of their arrival.

Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor – Geotech Drilling
Geotechnical Supervisor/ Manager
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (PM), the Supervisor directs and manages all on-site drillers, drill assistants, support staff, subcontractors, and equipment. The Supervisor enforces Geotech policies, procedures, and safety standards while meeting project requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage drill crews to ensure the successful operation and completion of drilling programs.
- Effectively transition between field based activities and office responsibilities to support hands on operations and administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and employees on site.
- Conduct daily safety meetings with crew and clients.
- Communicate with the Senior PM daily or as frequently as the project requires to be successful.
- Utilize technical knowledge of drill rigs to assist in troubleshooting and specialized tasks.
- Know, understand, comply and enforce HSE requirements to all site employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems
- Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.
